Poetry lives – and where else but in Czechia! Poetry – the shining beacon of Czech literature; a starting point and reference point, a way to go. Perhaps it is no wonder that the only Czech winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature is a poet. How is poetry doing in the here and now? Which themes, tendencies and turbulences is it driven by? Where is it headed? Three new anthologies of poetry provide unique insight into contemporary Czech poetry by the diversity of their voices, poetics and approaches. Daniela Pusch, Hans Thill and Julia Miesenböck, editors of the volumes, discuss the Czech poetry scene with Martina Lisa, translator and co-editor, and read from the anthologies.
