Beschreibung

Is queer writing a territory of solidarity, or a space where difference matters more than unity? And does a shared language of identity risk becoming a new system of constraint?
Poet and prose writer Ilya Danishevsky and poet and art critic Valerij Ledenev will discuss divergent queer optics and literary strategies. They will also try to understand why the right to these differences becomes especially vital where literature confronts a totalitarian apparatus of prohibition and the compulsion to use a single permissible language.
The participants will present their books: The Bear and the Pendulum (Ilya Danishevsky) and Of You Through the Glass (Valerij Ledenev). The discussion will be held in Russian.
