The internationally renowned recommendation list “The White Ravens” showcases outstanding new releases in international children’s and young adult literature every year. More than 200 titles in approximately 40 languages and from around 60 countries are selected annually by the language specialists of the International Youth Library and recommended in an annotated English-language catalogue. It serves as a guide for publishers, libraries, literary festivals, bookstores, and agencies—as well as anyone interested in international children’s and young adult literature—through the vast and complex market for children’s and young adult books, and is a treasure trove of literary discoveries.

At the Frankfurt Book Fair, the language specialists present selected titles from the current “The White Ravens 2026” list, which is published just a few days before the fair. For several years now, this panel discussion has been a fixture on the Frankfurt Book Fair’s calendar of events.
