About PublisHer:

PublisHer is a global platform dedicated to the recognition and advancement of women in the publishing industry. Established in 2019 by Bodour Al Qasimi (former President of the International Publishers Association and Founder and CEO of Kalimat Group), its mission is to create opportunities for women in publishing to connect, learn, and advance through mentorship, networking, and professional development.

Developed with the support of leading women from across the international publishing community, PublisHer's initiatives address the persistent gender imbalance in the global book industry. Since its inception, the organisation has hosted and participated in events across 21 countries, continually expanding its global reach and impact.

In 2026, PublisHer entered a new phase of growth with the launch of a tiered membership programme, alongside PublisHer Pathways, which partners with publishers to create meaningful internship opportunities, and PublisHer Studio, a free eight-week leadership development programme equipping early and mid-career women publishers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become the next generation of industry leaders.

At Frankfurt Book Fair, the PublisHer Lounge returns as a dedicated space for women in publishing to connect, learn, and grow through professional development sessions, mentorship, panel discussions, networking, and conversations with leading voices from across the global publishing community.
