About Us
Edebiyatist Deutschland GmbH was established in Frankfurt in 2024 with the aim of bringing Edebiyatist’s publishing experience to Europe and building new connections between Türkiye and Germany through literature. We believe that literature is one of the most powerful cultural forces capable of transcending languages, borders, and geographies. With this vision, we bring distinguished contemporary works of Turkish literature to German-speaking readers through translation, enabling our authors and their stories to reach new audiences in a new language.Since our establishment, we have published 10 books in German. Our catalogue brings together a diverse range of narratives, from literary fiction, crime and thrillers to works exploring the inner world of the individual, family relationships, and social issues. What matters to us is not only the story a book tells, but also the perspective it offers on people, society, and the world we live in.For this reason, our publishing programme embraces different voices and literary worlds. Our books explore the traces left by the past, conflicts within families and across generations, love, loneliness, hope and change, as well as social and political issues. We recognise that publishing a work in another language involves much more than translating words. From translation and editing to cover design and typesetting, we approach every stage of the publishing process with the aim of preserving the work’s distinctive voice and literary identity. Our goal is to ensure that a work of Turkish literature retains its world, emotion, and narrative power when read in German.Based in Frankfurt, Edebiyatist Deutschland is committed to building a lasting bridge between Turkish literature and German-speaking readers. We aim to increase the visibility of authors from Türkiye across German-speaking countries, introduce their works to new audiences, and create opportunities for different cultures to encounter one another through literature. For us, publishing is more than printing and distributing a book. Every book represents a new encounter: between an author and a new reader, between one language and another, and between one culture and another. Our journey, which began in Frankfurt in 2024, is still at its beginning. Building on the foundation laid by our first 10 books, we aim to continue growing with new authors, new works, and new languages, and to establish Edebiyatist Deutschland as a distinctive and enduring presence in European publishing.Edebiyatist Deutschland GmbH
