About
Wear Your Waders: From Panic to Peace, Vol. 1 by Ann Simard is a deeply personal memoir about surviving abuse, self-destruction, and the long journey toward healing and self-acceptance.
Raised in an abusive environment, Simard grew up longing for love while carrying pain she did not know how to process. As she moved into adulthood, that unresolved trauma followed her, contributing to cycles of harmful relationships, substance use, self-sabotage, and a constant struggle with shame and self-worth.
Behind the appearance of a normal life was a private battle with fear, anger, and emotional pain. At her lowest point, an unexpected source of healing entered her life and began to challenge the way she saw herself, her past, and her relationship with God.
Wear Your Waders is a story of trauma, faith, recovery, and learning to move from panic toward peace. It is ultimately about breaking destructive cycles, confronting buried pain, and discovering the possibility of love, forgiveness, and a new sense of self.
