Title : Bloodstone - A Novel

Brief : In the present day, an astrophysicist in Assam and an anthropologist with an inexplicable neural signature uncover a pattern buried in that ancient signal, one that echoes the mathematics Ramanujan claimed a goddess showed him. Their discovery draws the attention of forces who have been waiting — patiently, and with purpose.

Across continents, a failed writer, a grieving physicist, and a classified operation converge on a single event designed to push human consciousness past its threshold. What happens there will determine whether the signal remains a secret, becomes a weapon, or reveals something far older than civilisation.

BLOODSTONE is a novel of hidden mathematics, ancestral memory, and the thin membrane between minds — where devotion becomes data, and a goddess may be nothing less than the universe remembering itself.

Author : Shamit Bagchi

About : Shamit Bagchi writes at the convergence of literature, science, and contemplative philosophy. He holds a Master's in Complex Adaptive Systems from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden - a discipline centered on emergence and coherence that runs through every layer of his fiction - and an MBA from IIM Bangalore.

Over a decade working at the frontier of AI, data science, and quantum computing gives BLOODSTONE's science its authenticity: not decorative but drawn from direct experience of what these fields can and cannot yet explain.

A lifelong engagement with the Vedantic tradition and the teachings of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda forms BLOODSTONE's spiritual architecture - devotional rather than academic, shaping both his inner life and his fiction.

His published work includes Where Quantum Agents Bloom (2024), a novella exploring quantum AI, consciousness, and Himalayan monastic wisdom, featured in the IIM Bangalore Alumni Association newsletter; and Dreamland, a short fiction collection spanning Indian realism, Tantric mythology, and Scandinavian speculative fiction.

His writing has been compared to Jorge Luis Borges for metaphysical precision, Haruki Murakami for its movement between the quotidian and numinous, and Amitav Ghosh for its grounding in South Asian history.

BLOODSTONE is his debut literary novel. He is based in Frankfurt, Germany.
