About

This event explores the literary traces of Turkish migration to Germany and its transformation across generations. Beginning with the experiences of the first generation of Turkish workers who arrived in Germany in the 1960s, it follows the changing perspectives of subsequent generations and examines themes of migration, identity, memory, belonging and the meaning of home.

Through the works of Turkish and Turkish-German writers, the event explores how personal experiences of migration have evolved into a broader literary narrative connecting Türkiye and Germany. It also highlights the role of literature in preserving the memory of migration, reflecting changing identities, and creating a space for dialogue between cultures and generations.
