About

A discussion with Folly Press founder Emily Broadmore, member of the Creative Industries Working Group for the New Zealand AI Forum. Questions, demo's and respectful debate all welcome at the stand.

In a sector where writers and most indie publishes refuse to use AI, why and how is Folly using it?

Emily Broadmore runs Folly Press, a tiny New Zealand publishing house producing the output of a press many times its size. She will openly discuss:

- the ways in which a small press can adopt agentic AI to maximise operations, production and marketing while keeping every creative decision human.

- the difference between Gen-AI and agentic AI

- ethical uses to enable humans to focus on doing the creative and high-judgement work, by using AI ethically in the background.

- real examples of how AI is used to support operations, with one:one discussions available for anyone who wishes to learn more.

This is a short talk, with an honest Q&A, then free discussions or mentoring for any indie publishers who want to see how AI is changing publishing.

RSVP essential for mentoring slots by direct message.
