About

In 2026, Hachette Livre celebrates its historic bicentennial, marking two full centuries of rich cultural history and remarkable editorial innovation since its creation by Louis Hachette in 1826.

Today, Hachette Livre stands as the world's third-largest trade publisher. Operating dynamically in over seventy countries worldwide, it brings together more than 200 diverse and prestigious publishing houses. These imprints collectively publish approximately 15,000 new titles each year in a dozen different languages, primarily in French, English, and Spanish.

Active across all publishing segments, Hachette Livre publishes fiction, non-fiction, children's books, illustrated works, travel guides, paperbacks, audiobooks, as well as educational and school textbooks. Firmly believing that publishers thrive best when they remain close to their authors, readers, and local markets, the group is truly dedicated to preserving the unique identity and editorial expertise of each of its houses. With this clear ambition, its essential mission is to discover, nurture, and promote exceptional talent, in order to offer readers worldwide the best in writing and illustration, across all genres and formats.
