Session Introduction: Lifelong Readers, Sustainable Book Reading Among Saudis Children: Saudi Arabian Percpective
The session presents the Saudi Center for Opinion Polling (SCOP)’s research on children’s reading in Saudi Arabia. It brings together international public-opinion research perspective and a Saudi perspective on reading and childhood, combining Mr. Cees Faber’s international experience in social and behavioral trends with Dr. Nuha Aldosari’s expertise in language, research methodology, bilingualism, and children’s language development. The discussion will explore reading behavior, generational change, the importance of reading and language development during childhood, and how parents’ attitudes toward reading influence their children’s reading habits and contribute to the development and sustained practice of reading as a lifelong activity.
