The Ministry of Culture of Romania is the central public authority for cultural policy, supporting all sectors of the book industry, from authors and publishers to readers and translators, through various forms of support. The Ministry also oversees the promotion of Romanian literature abroad, organises the national pavilions at international book fairs, leads the country's Guest of Honour programmes and works alongside the Romanian Cultural Institute, which provides grants to foreign publishers. In 2028 Romania will be Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
