Du Bút is an independent publishing house based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, specializing in Vietnamese comics, illustrated books, and visual storytelling. Founded in 2016, we publish original works by Vietnamese creators, with a focus on contemporary Vietnamese culture, everyday life, and social issues. We also acquire international comics for publication in Vietnam and have worked with publishers including Humanoids, Delcourt, Fayard, HarperCollins, Quarto,... to name a few.

Du Bút also publishes books on comics studies and theory, including the Vietnamese editions of Scott McCloud’s Understanding Comics and Making Comics. Our goal is to support the development of comics in Vietnam, expand the range of works available to local readers, and increase international visibility for Vietnamese comics.

We are interested in both acquiring rights for publication in Vietnam and selling translation and publishing rights for Vietnamese comics abroad. We welcome discussions with publishers, rights agents, distributors, comics festivals, and cultural organisations.
