Der Kinderbuchverlag WooW Books wurde im September 2016 gegründet und ist ein Imprint des Atrium Verlags. WooW Books sitzt in einem alten Backsteingebäude am Ufer des Goldbekkanals, mitten im Herzen von Hamburg. Hier entstehen pro Jahr etwa fünfzehn neue Bücher – und wie der Verlagsname bereits verspricht, sind es besondere und überraschende Bücher, die beim Lesen ein richtiges „Wow-Gefühl“ herbeizaubern.

Das Programm von WooW Books richtet sich an Kinder zwischen 5 und 12 Jahren und steht für eine vielseitige, bunte Mischung: Neben spannenden Abenteuern mit einer Prise Magie kann man bei WooW Books unkonventionelle, besondere Vorlesegeschichten mit lustigen Figuren entdecken. Das i-Tüpfelchen des Programms bilden illustrierte Schmuckausgaben für alle Altersgruppen.

Neben Übersetzungen aus dem Englischen, Französischen, Polnischen oder Tschechischen haben mit u.a. Marianne Kaurin, Johan Egerkrans und Lisa Aisato viele namhafte skandinavische Autor*innen und Illustrator*innen ihre Verlagsheimat bei WooW Books gefunden. Gleichzeitig liegt dem Verlag aber auch die Zusammenarbeit mit deutschsprachigen Autor*innen und Illustrator*innen sehr am Herzen. Hierzu zählen nicht nur bereits bekannte Künstler*innen, sondern auch Nachwuchstalente.

WooW Books was founded in September 2016 and is an imprint of Atrium Verlag. The publishing house is located in an old brick building on the banks of the Goldbekkanal, right in the heart of Hamburg. Around fifteen new books are produced here every year. As the name suggests, it publishes special and surprising books that evoke a real "wow" feeling.

In addition to translations from English, French, Polish, and Czech, many renowned Scandinavian authors and illustrators, including Marianne Kaurin, Johan Egerkrans and Lisa Aisato, have found a publishing home at WooW Books. German-speaking authors and illustrators are also a priority. This includes not only well-known artists, but also up-and-coming talents.
