Independent, »small but beautiful«, as the biggest German daily FAZ calls it, 20 titles annually since 1993: fiction, mostly by contemporary German-speaking authors, but also translations from various languages and cultures. Novels, poetry collections, short stories, essays, a lot of poetry, as well as art books and books on cultural history; currently 21 authors under contract—above all, we seek out distinctive voices. Often with the support of sponsors, for which the »ETIKETT series« was established. In 2011, the small academic publishing imprint Frankfurt Academic Press was founded (www.frankfurt-academic-press.de), and a literary wine program will be added soon. – It's not easy for me to summarize all of this in a single »publishing philosophy«—the individual titles must first and foremost appeal to me as a reader, pique my curiosity, stimulate my intellectual appetite, and enrich my language. Something like that—or, to quote the publishing house's motto: Stay curious!

Unabhängig, ›klein aber fein‹, wie die FAZ sagt, seit 1993 jährlich 20 Titel: Belletristik, zumeist zeitgenössischer deutschsprachiger Autoren, aber auch Übersetzungen aus diversen Sprachen und Kulturen. Romane, Gedichtbände, Kurzprosa, Essays, viel Lyrik, auch Kunstbände und Kulturgeschichtliches, derzeit 21 Haus-Autorinnen und -Autoren – Hauptsache eigenwillige Stimmen. Oft mit Hilfe von Sponsor-Partnern, wozu die Reihe ETIKETT eingerichtet ist. 2011 Gründung der kleinen Wissenschafts-Tochter Frankfurt Academic Press (www.frankfurt-acdemic-press.de), demnächst kommt ein belletristisches Wein-Programm hinzu. – Das alles in einer ›Programmatik‹ zusammenzufassen, fällt mir nicht leicht – die einzelnen Titel müssen mir selbst als erstem Leser Freude bereiten, meine Neugierde kitzeln, meine Erkenntnislust anregen, meiner Sprache etwas hinzufügen.
